Lightweight

My niece is very happy with it.
Good equipment makes the start
a lot easier to play in the nature.
Especially for small kids at the age of 2
it’s easy to handle.
The brake are nice to have.

Best upgraded balance bike ever

Our little girl started on a cheaper balance bike around 18 months. Once we realized she loved to ride, we knew we had to find an upgrade. She is now 2 and half and loves her new Charger.

We powder coated the frame to match Mom's wheelchair. We also upgraded the tires for some extra flare. 12" Cult X Vans camo for the win (stock tires on Charger are great, but we couldn't resist the purple camo).

The quality of the bike is next level! Pneumatic tires and brakes are the perfect upgrade. As soon as she is ready for pedals, the Belter will be next! If you are hesitant to purchase an Early Rider, this is your sign. Send it!

Cable got stripped during the unboxing

I wanted to express a complaint because yesterday (August 14th), while doing the unboxing with my nephew, I carefully moved the brake cable slightly so the handlebar could turn more smoothly, and the cable got stripped (as you can see in the photo). I don’t think it’s very normal for this to happen with a brand-new product that’s being handled with care.

Daughter LOVES it, and I (Dad) love looking at it!

For the record, it's only been a couple weeks since my daughter received her new Charger for her 3rd birthday, but so far I/we couldn't be happier! Starting with customer service - the gentleman in WI who helped answer my random brake questions over the phone was incredibly helpful & even personally shipped our bike (within the hour btw, to make sure it shipped out that same afternoon), the delivery itself was surprisingly quick, and the bike assembly was a breeze with the included instructions/tools...

Back Story on the assembly - I stumbled upon Early Rider only a few days prior to my daughter's birthday, so unfortunately I was cutting it far too close for comfort, and it turned out that the day of her party was the only window of opportunity I had to assemble the bike without her seeing me... Even so, I was able to whip the bike together, match the seat height to her current 10" bike, swap out the stock right-hand brake for the left-hand setup (to mimic/prepare her for a future Stacyc - a silent yet added selling point for me btw), and swap out the standard black grips for new hot pink ones (worth it!), all before most attendees of her birthday party even realized I snuck away. 😅

Most importantly though - the overall quality & workmanship of the bike is literally second to none - heck I think this bike feels higher quality than any of my (Dad) current or previous bikes I've owned?! Best of all, my daughter absolutely loves it - which I was nervous she wouldn't, given she has another brand 10" balance bike she's already been riding comfortably for the last 6+ months... But to my nerdy Dad excitement, her face lit up the moment she saw it and without any hesitation literally grabbed the bars, threw her leg over and gave it a rip around the house - all while everyone watched & waited for her to finish opening presents!? Made my day - see pics as her face expression says it all!

I don't think I've ever wrote a review even remotely this in depth before, but I wanted to give props where they are due... Early Rider team - you can add a few new fans to your ranks! 👊

Really Pleased

This is a real bike, not a toy. It has real bearings and real tires. It is light enough for your kid to pick it up. I'm really thankful that there is a company making a high quality balance bike, it's such a critical first step. No other balance bike I've seen comes close. If you are a person who takes riding seriously, this is the one to get.

Finn’s Chargers 12

The Early Rider bike is of high quality components, light weight aluminum frame with minimal assembly required.
This bike is being enjoyed by Finn and given the adjustments available, the Charger 12 will provide great fun long after Finn gets into a pedal bike.

Solid bike - Could use some tweaks

Coming from a BMX background, I am impressed with how solid it feels and how light it is. The threadless headset is a nice touch and everything seems to be top quality. I would have gone with the typical BMX brands, but none of them offered brakes. The one issue I have with it is the ‘chainstays’ (lower rear frame) are too wide and my daughter is constantly ‘running over’ her ankles causing her to get frustrated when she was otherwise doing great. Maybe this is suppose to contribute to the balance in some way, but it seems entirely unnecessary.
