My 5yo was complaining that his previous bicycle was too heavy and the pedals were too hard to turn. He had difficulties to balance and I thought he was just uninterested. I got him the Belter 16 and he was riding without any help in less than an hour. Now cycling is one of his favorite activities.

We have had the Belter 16 for two years now and will upgrade next year. This bike made it super easy for our son to learn, even though he was really hesitant in the beginning. It's stable, trustworthy and robust - but without the added weight. And the design is outstanding. Our 6-year old has truly loved it.

Excellent bike. Our three kids used this to learn how to cycle and after using a balance bike managed to get going in minutes. Nice and light so it's easy to get going. Or youngest is 5 and a half (average height) and has outgrown it but still using it....for now. All learned to cycle just turning 4 (average height kids), no problems, perfect!

I love this bike! Considered some other bikes before going for the Belter as I was sceptical about the belt drive system rather than a conventional chain and I thought my son might want some colour on the frame, but the belt is so much smoother and quieter than a chain on a child's bike like this (i.e. single speed), and i've added some colour with Early Rider's blue pedals which looks really cool, plus the overall build quality of the frame and components is brilliant. My son had the Charger 12 balance bike before this (which he also loved and again, the build quality is brilliant) and i'm pleased we decided to stick with Early Rider for his first pedal bike - he loves his new bike as do I! I think the riding position is just right too, upright enough for a kid to find comfortable and to learn on but with a bit of forward lean to give them a strong position on the bike with lots of control.
